Syllabus
Dear Students, Parents, and/or Guardians,
Please review and discuss the following information regarding expectations, requirements, and procedures.
Materials Needed Each Day: pen, pencil, paper, spiral, and assignment book
Students are expected to bring their materials with them every day. Students will also be given a warm up sheet that they are in charge of keeping up to date each day.
Homework
· Assignments will be posted in the classroom to be written in student’s planners. Students are expected to record assignments in their assignment book and complete the homework each day that it is assigned.
· Absent students are expected to ask the teacher upon their return to make up missed work per county policy.
· If a student would like to review a particular topic when they get home, visit www.classzone.com. Each topic has a tutorial and practice problems.
· Remind is a simple way to stay informed and up-to-date with what’s happening in your class. By joining your teacher’s class on Remind, you’re choosing to receive class messages via push notifications, SMS, or email. Don’t worry; your phone number will not be shared with the teacher or anyone else in the class.

Grades
Grades will be based on scores taken from homework, quizzes, tests, participation, and classwork. Grades will be updated on the school website. If you do not have computer access, please check the box on the next sheet and I will send a grade sheet home with the student when grades are posted. Students will also be given one optional extra credit assignment per marking period.
Expectations
1. Be respectful
· Speak at appropriate times in appropriate volumes
· Treat others as you want to be treated
· Keep your hands to yourself
2. Be responsible
· Turn in homework on time
· Have what you need in class to be successful
3. Be your best
· Do your best on everything
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. The school phone number is 301-766-8038. If you would prefer to email me, my email address is [email protected]. I will get back to you as soon as possible, although email may get the quickest response because I do not have a telephone in the classroom. I am sure that with a joint effort this will be a successful year!
